Memories of Past

Before picture--only pic that I have the table but those of you who haven't seen the table in its orginal form you can see that it was the natural wood. Below is the after pic--yeah

This old entry table has been with us for almost our whole married life and it has experienced different places and memories with us --- Now I've re-done it so it has a new face and I love it!

I've been kinda down lately. I think partly because I've been kinda sick the past week. Another yucky cold! I've had so many this year! Not fun! Today I was reminded of a great way to lift your spirits. There are lots of ways, but I liked this one in particular. A fellow blogger, who has had a terrible tragedy be fall her, was saying that she was somewhere doing something at the moment and it reminded her of a 'memory' of past. She let herself remember and feel that - it was obviously a good memory, but it reminded her why she is where she is and it made her feel better in that moment. Life is much like the wind. It can blow us on a peaceful course or a rocky one and sometimes we don't see it coming and sometimes we do. I love that we can remember experiences of past! I have so many and most of them good!

I thank my parents for endless memories of happy times! Childhood should be full of happy times! A lot of what my children experience and do remind me of my childhood.

I have so many memories with Ben and the kids that I treasure. I am excited for the future memories we will make with eachother.

I think Heavenly Father wants us to remember those 'happy times' because a lot of those are blessings that he has given us. These great times can be a special occasion or something very small done in an ordinary day, but either way we can hold onto them and treasure in times that we may need to draw from them.

Conner's Birthday!

Having some fun!

Conner's Birthday!

Happy Birthday to Conner!

We had a good time celebrating Conner's b-day--our nephew/cousin! He is 4 today! We played soccer at the park, took a ride on the slides and had some good birthday cake!!! The kids love spending time with their cousins/friends! We are lucky to have them close by!

Ice Cream and Sidewalk Chalk!

The kids had some friends over and the 'ice cream' truck came whistling thru and usually I always say no. But it was Friday and I said why not? You are only a kid once in this life?!:)

So what could be better on a Friday afternoon --- a little biking, a little creative drawing on the sidewalk and to top it off with some popsicles that pulled right up to the house this equals HAPPY KIDS!!!

Happy Happy Birthday Ben!

A little late, but I wanted to say a big Happy Birthday to my husband! He is a Valentine Baby.

I have done some 'ode' to him already on my blog, but I really do love and appreciate all he is and does for our family! He is my best friend, partner and eternal companion! I hope he had a good birthday. The kids and I tried to spoil him and make him feel special!

love love ya -- Jen!:)

Going in so many directions lately!

I have so much on my mind lately. So many things to do, but who doesn't. There are constant projects with family, children, house, work, church and so on. I love all the areas in my life, but there sure isn't enough time in the day.

I feel like shouting to the world, first of all, that I LOVE, my children so! My world is full of beautiful moments with them in it everyday! Ok, so there are those not so beautiful moments, but I don't remember those so much! I try to focus on the all the joys that they portray everyday. That's right folks they give a little joy throughout each and every day so when my cup is not so full they help to fill it back up. I swear the Lord sure was so generous in sending me the most precious gifts anyone could ever ask for.

I have an amazing husband who loves me each day through all the ups and downs of life. He is a true partner! How blessed am I!

Right now All I can ask for is God's guidance and peace and through my faith I am trying to feel it because I know God knows me and loves my family and I. I know his spirit is with me.... Oh the joy in that through each day!

There is so much uncertainty in this life and at this moment with a slow economy, the turmoil throughout the world for peace, the diseased, the helpless, and the wars, but my soul holds onto my faith in God and gives me the 'certainty' I need to know to get through the day.

This post was going to turn out to be a 'sorry' for me with all the stuff in my head to do and worry over, but then I felt compelled to type down thoughts of true blessings. Well, I feel better. Complaining gets nowhere, but sometimes I think it will make me feel better, but expressing my blessings has made me feel even better. Imagine that, right.

P.S. sorry for those I do complain to sometimes.. I do appreciate the 'ear' and the 'love', though..

Big THANK YOU!

I want to express how much appreciate the love that was given to me over the past few days! I definately have sisters in Zion(in my ward RS). I had a terrible thing happen to me which I am still recovering from a few days ago. My back went out so to speek. I could not get up off the couch a few mornings ago and stand up straight from almost the entire day. My husband could not come home and I had my baby and my daughter. I had to crawl on my hands and feet to use the bathroom at first. I had sisters/friends come to my aid immediately. I was very humbled and it was hard to ask for help, but the Lord blessed me in my time of need. I was grateful for my 'sisters' service and help! I became more aware of how thankful I am for my healthy body and all its working parts. It was not a good feeling to feel helpless. These sisters made lunch, put my baby down, helped walk me to and from places in my home, took in my kids for a few hours, picked them from school and took my baby till my husband came home and my visiting teacher(bless her) drove me to a doctors appt.! I can walk now without assistance, but still in pain and I can't bend over, but I know I will heal soon enough! My heart is full and goes out to those of you that helped me!! Love you all!

Go Cardinals!

Ben and I are Cardinals fans. We were so proud of them for winning the Championship and they gave it their all in the Super Bowl! I am not a huge fan a football, but I watch the Cardinals! We had a family dinner and watched the Superbowl-- we had a great time. I have pics, but I can't find my USB cord to transfer onto the computer at the moment so until next time.
