A Fun Weekend to Kick off the Summer!

Bentley,Papa Hill, Abby and Gaje (cousins)

We had a such a good time at the lake with family! Thanks to Mom and Dad Hill for making it happen. The kids always have a great time and I think that the 'big kids'(aka us-the adults) have just as much fun!! Skiing, tubing, swimming, boating and chit/chatting!

Although, I was so soar from skiing for about 2 min...--totally worth it, though. I even got on the tube with Abby behind the boat and got knocked around a little... Tyler went on the tube all by himself behind the boat. I was so proud-- a sign of getting a little older!

Bread...Bread.....and more Bread!

So, lately I've not wanted to waste food because so many go without and we are living on a tight budget soooo... we play the ''everything counts game"!

I had zucchini to use... We only really like our squash barby'd and we are out of propane. Also, the squash had a little mold on the skin so what to do, right? Well, bread! So, I set out to make bread and haven't cooked zucchini bread before, but it turned out delicious or so my husband says(he has a good pallate)! So, I've had enough to make four batches and shared some along the way!

Sometimes we have to get creative! Luckily I had all the other ingredients to go along with making the bread!

Read on!

I have three new posts -- I am playing catch up!So much going on and very busy!

:)

Birthday Boy!

This is a couple of days late, but I am trying to play catch up with everything going on lately!

Tyler is our first born. He is such a beautiful boy(now that is such a mom comment isn't it, but it is true).. He has such a kind heart and he has a golden smile. He loves to joke and laugh! He likes to make others laugh too!

From the time he was born he was such a good baby. He was so layed back and happy@! His terrible two's hit and those were hard,, but he would just smile and my heart would melt! He was and is a such a good sleeper. He loves and loved his sister from the moment she came into our family! Tyler has loved Abby as his sister and as his friend. Tyler loves his little world -- family, home and friends and even school most of the time. He is in Kindergarten and really likes his teacher and friends in class. He is six now!!! Wow! He is getting so big!

He loves to draw, play with his animals, ride his bike, is curious about creepy/crawly things, loves to be at home and is up for a birthday party any day! His dad and I just love him ---- He has blessed our lives and has taught so much since he has been with us!

On his birthday, I kept him home from school and decorated his door with past and present pic and a sign saying happy birthday(tradition in the fam)--He loved waking up to that. Then we met his cousins who are here from out of town at a pool with slides(which they had a blast at) then they came over and hung out all day. Played, watched movies, played in the sprinklers, rode bikes, had pizza and cupcakes in honor of his birthday! Yeah....Yeah....

Happy Birthday!

love, mom, dad, Abby and Benji

Wedding Bliss!

Ryan(the handsome one in the pic) and Aimee(the gorgeous bride in the pic)

Ok, so story behind this pic. See the hint of an adult arm(black on the left side of the pic) well, that's the photographer. He is trying to get a good pic of all the kids(which there were a lot of). So, what you don't see is that he has been jumping around and making funny noises so the kids will look at him and smile.. He's been doing this for a time and I couldn't stop laughing because he looked like he was going to pass out,, but I think he might've gotten a good picture. This pic you see is from my camera of course to the side. You see the little babies just staring up at the sky - well they just couldn't figure out what he was doing so they just stared! That just made me laugh even more!:)

These are all the boy cousins(except for Gaje-we couldn't find him:(next time) (on the Hill side--Nana and Papa)! I love the matching ties!

To be brides many years down the road --our flower girls looking on at the handsome groom and 'princess' of a bride! Abby got all into the wedding thing... It was fun to see!

Samantha(cousin) and Abby were flower girls and aren't they so darn cute!
We were able to enjoy and celebrate my brother Ryan's wedding, he married Aimee! It was a beautiful time. We are excited and very happy for them that they found eachother. They both have had some hard times and are finally with eachother and will be forever! Love you both!

Soccer X 2!

Abby ready to the kick the ball or not!

Tyler just chilling!

The team waiting for team pics! There are four girls and four boys

Practicing together during team practice!
The only way I was going to do soccer is if they were on the same team! This is one of the advantages of Tyler and Abby being a year apart-- they could be on the same team. It has been a family event every Weds. nights and Saturday mornings. It has been really fun and exciting to watch them play. This is their first time in an organized sport. I think they like it most of the time. Although, in practice if they still eachothers ball while playing they get a little mad (it a brother/sister thing) We are trying to teach them that is part of the game. All in all it is great to see their enthusiasm towards playing!
