Update on A/C

Abby and Lexi (Aren't they so darn cute! Friends and School Buddies)They happen to have the same dress so I had to take a picture! That is what happens when there is a Target around every corner:)
Yes. Lets have a moment of silence. The air is fixed - at least for now! No, it should be fine for a long while! Thanks for all the concern from family and friends! Not fun to go through, but feel blessed it is taken care of and we are 'sweat' free!

Keeping Cool!

Well, as I am writing this I am starting to sweat in my own house. Our 'beloved' A/C is having issues again. We thought it was fixed, but to no avail! So, who knows when the 'fixers' will arrive today.

I started thinking how people survived without air conditioning. Wow! I think this is why I was born when I was and maybe for other reasons too, of course. I appreciate the modern convienences more than ever now. When you don't have them, it humbles you real quick. I am thankful for the 'fixers' and their ability to come out quickly, though.

So, hopefully I can start feeling the 'coolness' from above come into our home sometime today - sooner than later!

I am trying to keep the faith!!! That is what it is about, right.

A Pinetop Times 2!

We had fun at the Hill/Davies family get together too! The weather very nice! Had picnics at the park, walks, a little antique shopping, bike riding and just hanging out! Thanks for a good time. It always goes by so fast.

Sam Johnson Family Get Together!

Ok, we had a great time! I am exhausted, but it was really fun! Pinetop was beautiful. Weather was perfect! The kids played and played with their cousins. We went to Paradise Creek Friday. I haven't been there in years and it was amazing -very green! The kids took a little walk up the creek and saw 'cows' which to five and three year olds are so exciting. They also fished which I thought they wouldn't get into, but they kept casting out over and over again! Although, they didn't understand whey they were not catching fish.. Abby kept telling me there were no fish in the creek or the lake! I just had to tell her that was part of fishing we sometimes can fish all day and not catch one! It's still fun, though, right? ( Well, I am not a big fisherman, but if the kids like it, then that works for me?)Friday night the kids were running around so excited to be in the mountains and together. Grandma and Grandpa had a fishing game and they each 'fished' out a little prize (flashlights for the boys and little dolly's for the girls). We as parents, the adults, tried to be fun after the kids went down, but we were so tired we just went to bed because we all knew the kiddos would be waking up as soon as the sun came up!
Saturday we hiked behind the cabin and the kids found a cool 'homemade' fort. Then, we headed off to the lake where we canoed, had a great picnic, fished and took snoozes in our camping chairs. We found a great Ramada down by the lake and it was so 'picturesque' looking out into the lake through the wooded trees. Saturday night the kids made hats (that grandma provided) and we had a fire and smores. Sunday we had a great breakfast and relaxed before we had to leave! Everything was so organized and I appreciated all the help that everyone did to make our 'Sam Johnson Reunion' a success!

New Moon! What's Next?

I finished New Moon.. Wow! What comes next. I know most people have read the series, but I am enjoying them now. What would we do without Bella and Edward? Ha... Ha....

Why?

It is all about the 'simple joys in life' that God has given us!

Yet again, I am reminded about how life is so precious and can be taken away at anytime. It saddens me when people are suddenly taken from us, especially when they are young and have beautiful children and family left behind. I ponder on why they are taken. Some things are hard to understand in this life because we are so human. Our faith and prayers are powerful beyond our understanding. They can serve as footstools into our Heavenly Father's reasons for wanting his children back home with him.
I am also reminded of how blessed I am to take everyday and enjoy what comes! Every day is a gift! Now, I understand this in theory and I am trying to practice it in real life!
I really do pray for those that mourn and hope that their days are made happier again through the gospel, their faith and through the faith of others.

Inspiring Message!

I know, a new post already, but I am trying to use this as a journal as well, in some ways. I have another journal on the computer, but I like to use this one with all the pics to go with the writings.

I sat down on my bed for a few minutes to read the Ensign. I love all the stories and messages in the Ensign. They are so inspiring and true. One story about being true to your calling and magnifying it really got me thinking about how we should "bloom where we are planted"! I just love that saying because it is so true and I think our lives would be happier and stronger. The Lord expects a lot from us. The more we serve the more others will be blessed as well as ourselves. Part of those blessings are learning and growing spiritually. It can be hard sometimes, but the Lord can give us strength in our callings. I know he has given me strength and direction through out the years in various callings and in my own life as a mom, a friend, a sister, a wife and a daughter.

Labor Day Weekend Fun!

So, we had a big weekend! Lots of adventure. Boy, I am tired! But we had fun and that is what counts! First we drove up to Prescott and played with Grandma and Grandpa Johnson. We canoed and took a little hike around the lake in Prescott. Then, we celebrated Papa Hill's birthday with a big party at their house in the valley, then we had a big day at the lake with the ski boat. The kids were totally worn out and so were we, but it was worth it!

Canoeing with Grandpa and Grandma in Prescott. Thanks for letting us come up and playing with you all! It was a beautiful day!

Tyler in thought? "I wonder if I can catch any of those fish that are biting my toes."

Papa playing with the kids at Bartlett Lake. Tyler and Jaxon went on the tube behind the boat! They had big smiles and they thought they were "big" boys!

I don't think the kids got out of the water! They loved every minute. Tyler and Abby are big swimmers now. Papa was throwing them up in the air to make a big splash.. Again, Again they would say! Tradition: The kids went to the Marina where they have a little store full of 'Popcicles' and on a hot day that is sure tastey! Thanks to Nana and Papa Hill for providing the 'Lake, Boat, Fun' for the day!

It's official - I am in Love!

Benjamin is now six months and he is getting cuter by the second. Ok, I am biased, but that is how it is supposed to work, right!
